DON'T MISS THE RAPTURE

A Scriptural Re-Examination of the End-Time Scenario

 EXCERPTS

From Author’s Note:

"In our quest for ‘true Truth’, we sometimes experience the excitement of an old prospector who stumbles onto a gold nugget that he hadn’t even imagined was there. … And then once we see it, and grasp it, it can lead us on to another nugget, and another, and yet another…."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"In our daily Bible reading, we so often simply cruise past certain key (or, alternatively, obscure) words, even unconsciously applying our own logic or otherwise yielding to our modern-day culture of hastiness, ‘ready-mades’, drive-throughs and fast-foods!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"In the Bible, there is no superfluous or redundant word. Every hair on the brush helps to decipher the picture that emerges. Sometimes the smallest detail can open up the greatest revelation. What seems to be an insignificant word or symbol (or omission!) may be just what unravels a total mystery or identifies an entire prophetic timeline."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sometimes, just chasing after one small butterfly of truth – for one finite point, in one single passage – can lead to an entire bird sanctuary of ‘revelation’ or ‘spiritual insights’, opening up a whole new realm of spiritual truths."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Introduction:

"I don’t know how old I was when I first became fascinated with the book of Revelation. I simply remember that after ‘lights-out’, sharing a room with my adulated older sister, I would get under the covers with a flashlight and devour the engrossing and mysterious accounts of "things which shall be hereafter" (Rev. 1:19). I suppose I was around eleven or twelve –"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"At that time, while the horrors of the Tribulation were chillingly evident in what I read, I knew nothing of "pre-Tribulation", "mid-Tribulation" or "post-Tribulation" ‘doctrines’. Actually, I had never even heard the term "Rapture", as applied to the Church, let alone read that word anywhere in my Bible."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

... all at once I heard clearly in my spirit – verbatim: "Forget everything you have ever heard, and read it again." There was absolutely no question in my mind that the Holy Spirit was speaking of the Book of Revelation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I can unequivocally say that never, in all my years of reading and re-reading the Book of Revelation, did I understand so much and so clearly as at that reading. I was stunned that my questions over (especially) the Rapture and its timing all seemed to be dispelled, as virtually self-evident."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"The entire essence of what you will find shared in these pages is to achieve more unity where there is perceived division, particularly as to this question of the timing of the Rapture, along with the exhortation to "watch" and be ready."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 1:
"There is ever increasing revelation on Revelation, but it is critical to understand that, above all books of the Bible, this is one book that can never be properly interpreted without reference to the totality of the Scriptures – Old and New Testament."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"We are surely all agreed that our salvation – or even our inclusion in the Rapture – does not depend on what position we hold about its timing ("pre-Trib", "mid-Trib" or "post-Trib"). The fact is, the Rapture will occur exactly as and when Father has designed it to occur; and He will "catch up", and receive unto Himself, those of all three persuasions, as long as they are prepared and "watching"! "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No theories or positions held by scholars or the ordinary believer had any influence on the fact, place or timing of Jesus’ divine birth. That was the case for His first coming, and it will be no less the case for His second coming."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"… not only is the terminology – as currently widely used – not ‘sacrosanct’, it is actually unscriptural to apply the term "the Tribulation" to the first half of Daniel’s "week" when Jesus Himself never did so."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This difference in perception of the timing of the Wrath constitutes the crux of the fundamental misunderstanding underlying the entire ‘faux’ (false) division between the "pre-Trib" and "mid-Trib" positions."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"[I]f … the time of "that tribulation" were recognised to be a period synonymous with the three-and-a-half year "Great Tribulation", which is synonymous with the "Time of Jacobs Trouble", which is synonymous with the "Day of God’s Wrath" (each of them representing the same three and a half years), the timing of the Rapture would be understood to be mid-"Week" but also pre-Wrath! "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Expressed another way, a "pre-(Great) Tribulation" (as in "pre-Wrath") Rapture, according to Jesus’ usage of "great tribulation", is actually a mid-"Week" Rapture; and a "mid-Tribulation" (as in "pre-Wrath") Rapture is also a mid-"Week" Rapture. Therefore, the "pre-Tribbers" and the "mid-Tribbers" – if both embracing the relevant "Wrath" as the sixth seal’s "Day of God’s Wrath"– should be in agreement as genuine pre-Wrath-ers!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"What does begin to take shape clearly, in all accounts of the final seven-year period, is that something radically changes at the end of the first three and a half years!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 2:
"In fact … the antichrist appears in Jesus’ narrative exactly mid-chapter (verse 15 out of 30), precisely reflecting this imposter’s mid-"week" takeover, once the Church has been removed from the Earth."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"… "salvation" is not just the moment of accepting Christ as Savior. The full content of the word "salvation" means that because we accept Christ as Savior and Lord, we will ultimately be saved (delivered) from the Wrath of God …."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Believers will thus not be spared the wrath of men; (persecution), but they will be spared the Wrath of God (judgment)! … So it is most important for those left behind to understand that, while all those remaining on Earth will suffer persecution at the hand of the antichrist and his followers, only those who worship the beast and receive his mark will suffer the Wrath of God! Beloved reader, NEVER take the mark of the beast! "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 3:

"Thus it is those who are counted worthy to escape the Great Tribulation who are said to have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb, whereas those "Tribulation saints" who are slain for their faith during the Great Tribulation are described as martyred in their own blood."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The "bride" is not sufficiently purified for the holy union upon her first-flush arrival from the tainted Earth and, just as with Esther, has need of further purification in the courts of the King, in the rarified air of Heaven."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 4:

"It is worthy of note that those under the altar, as they wait and cry out to God to be avenged, are given white robes and told to rest and wait yet awhile for their fellowservants who must also suffer martyrdom, as they have. When the raptured saints later arrive in Heaven, they already have white robes, "washed ... and made ... white in the blood of the Lamb". (Rev. 7:9, 13-14.)"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"… if God did not have to remove the Jews in order to deal with the early church, why would He have to remove the Church in order to deal with the Jews?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Jesus … illustrated a spiritual truth by using a parable. He did not use a parable or tradition to establish a spiritual truth."

~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 5:
"So in the final analysis, the fact that the Day of Destruction unambiguously belongs to the second half of the "week" – along with the "Day of the Lord", "The Day of Vengeance" and the "Day of Judgment" – leaves no doubt that the Day of Wrath equally belongs to the second half of the "week"."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Only at this point – mid-"week" – is this "great day of his wrath" spoken of as having come upon the Earth!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It is inconceivable to suppose that God would shield the Jews from His Wrath and at the same time leave vulnerable the Christians, if they were still to be on the Earth at this time!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"… [Revelation] Chapter 8, chronicling the events after the sealing of the hundred and forty-four thousand and the arrival in Heaven of the numberless multitude, is the first chapter where the Earth is shown without the Church. The Church is not mentioned at all, in connection with the Earth, after the sixth seal! "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Devil’s wrath is of course directed at the hundred and forty-four thousand Jews as well as the Tribulation saints …. The Wrath of God is for those wicked and unrepentant unbelievers on the Earth after the Rapture. Who then shall escape either the Devil’s wrath or the Wrath of God?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"…the Church does not have to be on the Earth to intercede. To the contrary: in Heaven the saints can intercede far more powerfully, with the Master Intercessor, Jesus Himself, unhindered by demonic "principalities" and "powers" and "spiritual wickedness in high places" (Eph. 6:12) and unimpaired by natural inadequacies and infirmities of the flesh."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"… the incense from the prayers of the saints is not said to be arising from the Earth. It is said to be ascending before God out of the angel's hand from the altar before the Throne in Heaven. And where is the numberless multitude gathered? On the "sea of glass" before the Throne, in Heaven, where its prayers can be orchestrated by the greatest Intercessor of all time, Jesus Christ Himself!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"It is inconceivable that the trumpet that is designated to bring the height of the Wrath of God would be the same trumpet that announces the coming of Jesus and the calling together of His own to Himself, to dwell with Him forever! The seventh angel’s trumpet brings God’s judgment; whereas the trump of GOD brings His glorious SALVATION! "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 6:
Note well: the words "have come out of great tribulation" do not earmark this multitude as "Tribulation saints"! … [T]he explicit timing of this numberless multitude’s appearance in Heaven would indicate that they "came out of" (the) great tribulation in the sense of escaping from (in safety) – and all at once, not individually, as is the case with the martyred "Tribulation saints".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 7:

"The very fact that Moses was standing there with Elijah would suggest that, if he were the one ordained to come with Elijah, the scribes (and the disciples) would have mentioned both names! And since they did not, certainly Jesus could have corrected the omission, right then and there; but He did not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 8:
"… all eschatological Scriptures speak to one group or another, but not all apply to all of the people of God alike. Jehovah God has a large and diverse family, even though, in the end, we will all be one! "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Resurrection and Rapture are not one and the same thing! A resurrection is a bodily resumption of life to accommodate the earthly walk, whereas a rapture is the assumption of a glorified body to enable a heavenly walk."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thus, for the Rapture of the Church, neither the "dead in Christ", who will be raised up to rise up, nor the "bride", who will rise in the air to join them, will need resurrected bodies for that journey!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 9:

"…[I]s not this "Come ye out" for the redeemed Jews strongly reminiscent of John’s "Come up hither" for the Church?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Of enormous significance here is that His "wrath is come" is announced on two different occasions, in two distinct timeframes – once just following the opening of the sixth seal, accompanied by an earthquake and the heavens departing "like as a scroll" to provide an "open door" to receive the raptured Church, the "bride", just prior to the Great Tribulation … and once just following the ascension of the two witnesses, accompanied by another earthquake and the "opened Temple" in Heaven to receive the hundred and forty-four thousand raptured Jewish "virgins", just prior to the final "woe":"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Note that Christians are received into Heaven by an "open door"; and Jews are received by the "open" Temple!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Similarly, only twice in Scripture is the sudden appearance of a great crowd in Heaven recorded – once at the Rapture of the Church (pre-day of Wrath), and once at the Rapture of the hundred and forty-four thousand Jews (pre-final Wrath/"woe")."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So just as each of the two companies has its own particular "last trump", and just as each has its own special "Rapture", each also has its own identifiable portion of the "Wrath of God" to which it is ‘not appointed’!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Recall too that while the "Wrath" comes from God and targets the antichrist and the unrepentant dwelling on the Earth, the "great tribulation" comes from the antichrist and targets the believers dwelling on the Earth!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Certain Scriptures that were meant for the Jews only, have at times been interpreted as being for the Church; and, conversely, certain Scriptures relating to Christians only, have sometimes been seen as being for God's "chosen people", the Jews, understandably resulting in confusion between the two."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Indeed, how much more likely would it be that the woman "Israel" that birthed the man child would be a representation of the elect out of every tribe of her people, namely, the hundred and forty-four thousand "virgins" that, at the end of the great Tribulation, are raptured and rejoin the man child on the "sea of glass" in Heaven – the woman ("firstfruit") at last reunited with her child ("firstborn")?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Revelation 14 crowd is seen before the Throne with harps in their hands, reminiscent of the psalms of David; the Revelation 7 multitude is seen before the Throne with palms in their hands, reminiscent of Christ’s "triumphal entry" into Jerusalem!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 10:
"While the ["Great Tribulation" / "Time of Jacob's Trouble"] extends over a three-and-a-half-year period of the  progressive outpouring of the Wrath of God, the "Day of the Lord" is the swift and dramatic culmination of God’s Wrath at the end of that period…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Christ’s first "appearance" at the Rapture is focused on the Church; His second "appearance" at the Day of the Lord is focused on the Jewish remnant, who will at last recognize their Messiah."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"In the final analysis, then, it would appear that there is actually no dichotomy or contradiction between these two different descriptions – the thief-in-the-night analogy (very furtive and ‘private’, and bringing darkness and destruction), on the one hand, and the lightening-from-east-to-west analogy (very visible and ‘public’, and bringing light and victory), on the other. They simply refer to opposite ends of the Day of the Lord spectrum – it’s ominous beginning and its glorious ending!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"… it is just as important for God’s people to be "watching" at the end of the Great Tribulation /Time of Jacob’s Trouble for Christ’s glorious Return to Earth as it is for them to be "watching" at the end of "the beginning of sorrows" for the glorious Rapture to Heaven!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Chapter 11:
"How delicately we must tread through the precious field of knowledge given us in the amazingly intricate and precise – yet sometimes intentionally veiled – Word of God, to try to arrive at His eternal truths at the appointed time."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Within the fifty-two Books of the Bible, different authors use different symbols to mean different things; and even the same author uses different symbols to mean different things at different times. There is an infinite realm of creativity in language and symbolism."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So actually there is no ambiguity in the sense of the word "taken", itself; it is simply that in the Rapture, it is the righteous who are taken (up); and in the Second Coming, it is the unrighteous who are taken (out or away)."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"The main distinction is that, in the Rapture, it is the wicked who remain on the Earth, whereas at the Second Coming, it is the righteous who remain on the Earth."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Finally, note that the "taking" (for the "great winepress", following the Great Tribulation) is an act of God; man is left with no option, as at the flood. In contrast, at the Rapture, "going out to meet him", having "watched" and been ready, is an act of the believer! The choice here is ours –"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 12:

"Could this absence of any mention of the raptured Church, the "bride", during the description of the Millennium and following, until the arrival of the New Jerusalem, possibly have an enormous significance that may have been widely overlooked?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Is it not significant too that the vision that closes with the Lamb’s "wife" making herself ready portrays Jesus in His role as Bridegroom and "Lamb", while the following verses – shifting abruptly to the armies of Heaven -- describe Him in His role as Lion, Warrior, conquering King of Kings, with flames of fire in His eyes and blood on His garments!?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"… God assigns angels to watch over man (thus serving man rather than man serving angels …) ... [and] the fact [remains] that men have angels rather than angels having men! Finally, angels appear in God’s "likeness", but man is made in His "image"!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jesus Himself says that He will be accompanied by all His holy angels. He will share his glory with no man! … The angels do not share or take of His glory; the angels are a part of His glory!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Chapter 13:

"… in this scene, it is they who are shown to be dwelling with Him; yet they already have the promise that, at a future time, in God’s Kingdom on Earth, it is He who it is said shall dwell with them! "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"After all, it is His Father’s House, in which there are many mansions, all lovingly and individually prepared for His own, over countless centuries (John 14:2). It is not just a temporary "Tent City" or "refugee camp", thrown up hastily for transients who will in any case be returning to Earth in a few short years."
